Downstream Cargo Pick-Up Slows, Spot Premiums Weaken [SMM North China Spot Copper]

SMM, January 13: Today, spot copper in North China was quoted at a discount of 180-80 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, down 20 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Transaction prices were 75,210-75,480 yuan/mt, with an average price of 75,345 yuan/mt, up 240 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. The center of copper prices continued to rise, while downstream cargo pick-up slowed due to weak consumption.
